About us

JJP Holdings SW Ltd is a growing, family-run business which excels in bringing innovative transport solutions to the South West of England.

Operating mostly in the Somerset and Bristol areas, activities within the JJP Holdings group of companies include local bus services, coach hire, heritage bus hire and steam locomotive operations.

The company began life with the acquisition in 2005 of the old Crosville Motor Services Ltd name, originally a bus company operating in north Wales and north west England. The re-launched Crosville quickly developed new local bus service routes in Weston-super-Mare and beyond, soon becoming the largest independent operator in the town.

Local bus services were augmented by school contracts, coach hire and heritage bus operations.

Further development continued after Crosville won the tender for an interim contract to supply transport to the Hinkley Point C power station construction site on behalf of EDF Energy. The historic Southern National name was resurrected to provide this service, with both Crosville and Southern National now coming under the ownership of the JJP Holdings (SW) Ltd group

A new partnership was forged with First Group to serve the needs of Hinkley Point C, Somerset Transport Solutions being the new joint company running the operation.

Two Swindon-designed steam locomotives have been purchased, Kinlet Hall & Thornbury Castle Ltd being the company which will own, restore and maintain the locos.

Together with Sentinel Steam Bus 'Elizabeth', the steam locomotives will be marketed and operated by Vintage Road Rail & Steam Ltd. Crosville's fleet of heritage buses will also be operated by VRRS in due course.

Two further companies have been formed: Crosville Cars (a proposed local taxi service) and JJP Heavy Haulage Ltd. These are both under development.
